Oaklands residents in our Dementia wing took part in various puzzle activities from jigsaw puzzles, matching pattern blocks and crosswords using the iPad. National puzzle day recognises how exercising our brains with puzzle activities are a great way to exercise and stimulate your brain, it can bring comfort, lower stress levels, help reduce anxiety and can also be lots of fun.
Residents in our residential suite had fun playing the TV show game of catchphrase pictures of common phrases and sayings by looking at the emoji clues, words and pictures. A picture is given out and shared amongst the group where residents have to work as a team to find the correct saying or phrase. Lots of fun and laughter was had by all that took part.
