The Future Care Group

Meet The Team at Acacia Lodge Oxfordshire

Our Belief is that your future matters

Thelma Clutson

Registered Home Manager

In 2015 I became the Registered Manager at Acacia Lodge.

I love heading up the team at Acacia, we have great people here who go beyond the call of duty every day to deliver outstanding care to our residents.

The best part of my role is being part of a great team, seeing residents smiling and enjoying, being part of the family and making a difference.

Rowena Gee

Deputy Manager/Clinical Lead
I trained, qualified and practised as a registered nurse here at Acacia Lodge. I loved providing care to our residents to ensure their health and well-being was a priority. I progressed to become Lead Nurse, and just over 2 years ago when the position for Deputy Manager became open, I applied as I wanted to provide a more holistic approach to our residents care, and take on all aspects other than their physical well-being. I now have a joint role.

My job is important as I’m responsible for making sure both residents and staff are happy. Acacia Lodge feels like my second home, we have a great team, hard-working but still relaxed. We support our staff in every way,  whether it be matters within the home or personally, we are just one big ‘Acacia Lodge Family’.

In my spare time, I love nothing more than spending time with my own family, going out for walks with my dogs, cooking and dress-making!

Wendy Fricker

Lifestyle Lead
I began my employment at Acacia lodge in 2013 in the Housekeeping Department, but soon realised that doing activities was something I wanted to try and would enjoy.

When the opportunity arose I applied for the role immediately. My manager has been my mentor and adviser and has encouraged me to keep the momentum going with everything I plan. Thelma nominated me for the care home awards in 2018 and I made it to the final seven. A proud moment!

The best part of my role is bringing joy and laughter and creating special moments with our residents, families and staff. Offering reassurance and a hug to residents when needed is also so important to me.  A chat and a cup of tea goes a long way to making someone feel wanted or respected.

My role is important because without the daily stimulation of an activity, it is easy to become withdrawn, lethargic and poorly. Using my person centred care skills I endeavour to make sure that everything is an activity, from care to meal times. Activities cover many daily tasks as well as the usual fun things.

Mariusz Paluszkiewicz

Head Chef

I joined Acacia Lodge 6 years ago and work here as a Head Chef.

I enjoy working in a friendly atmosphere and seeing happy and smiley faces of our residents.

My role is important because I ensure that our kitchen staff have the highest level of food hygiene and quality so that we retain our 5* rating.

In my spare time I like going to the gym, running, cycling or playing table tennis. I have done 18 half marathons and 2 full marathons!

I also walked 100km from London to Brighton last year to raise money for our residents and I set up an aquarium for them in Acacia.
