During the last two weeks the residents from Priory Court Care Home have participated in designing the display boards around the home to make them bright and to show their craft work.
Residents decided that they would like to change the boards throughout the year for the seasons, so we have started on Spring, we have three large display boards to decorate. The residents decided on blossom trees and daffodils with butterflies and bees around them. They thought tearing up the tissue paper, scrunching it up and gluing it to the picture would give the best results, it is also said to be therapeutic scrunching up the tissue paper.
This activity bought residents together from different units and was a social activity with a lot of chatting and laughing. A visitor walked past our crafts room and commentated “Wow, this is fantastic, looks so bright and cheerful, what a wonderful idea”.
