Transporting Willow Lounge back in time to the camaraderie of 1944, Oaklands House Care Centre commemorated and celebrated D-Day with residents, families, and staff!
Delving into the depth of knowledge from this era, we kicked off with a multi-choice quiz. Congratulations to Resident Sylvia for scoring the most correct answers and winning afternoon tea for four in our Vintage Cafe!
We then elevated the festivities with a wartime sing-along, belting out many favorite tunes.
Following a satisfying English cream tea and delicious cupcakes, we renewed our energy for the culmination of the event, featuring iconic songs like “Roll Out The Barrel” and “We’ll Meet Again.”
Hearts and souls were poured into the music as we honored those who bravely fought for our freedom.
Overall, it was an inspirational and heartwarming experience for all those in attendance at Oaklands House Care Centre!
