Our third annual Cowes Week outing was a fantastic success for Solent Grange Nursing Home! All the residents who wished to join had the opportunity to participate. Staff from various departments came together to help out and enjoy the experience. Everyone enjoyed the sunshine, indulged in ice cream, milkshakes, and other refreshments, and savoured Prosecco, Isle of Wight whisky samples, music, and conversations with the community. We also supported the Alzheimer’s Café with a small donation, and they kindly provided delicious cake and tea/coffee. Later, we cooled off in the Musto beer tent with complimentary drinks before heading back to catch our taxis.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Solent Grange Nursing Home for making this outing possible. I couldn’t have done it without the team’s collective effort. A special thank you goes to Kate, who joined us in Cowes to help with the outing. Kate’s mother-in-law is a resident at the home and, unfortunately, couldn’t attend, but Kate graciously offered her assistance, which was wonderful and greatly appreciated.
Resident Gwen remarked, “This is absolutely beautiful. We are so lucky to have you and the other staff do this for us.” Gay added, “I would love to have sat down there all day; it was lovely.” (The next day, we made arrangements for Gay to go again, and she was over the moon!)
