Growing, Singing, and Smiling Together
This week at The Boynes, our residents embraced the joy of gardening, diving into some hands-on plant propagation! Using clear plastic bottles, we set up our cuttings to allow everyone to watch the roots develop and grow—a fascinating and rewarding process that brings nature’s magic right before our eyes.
In addition to propagation, we planted honeysuckles, sparking a heartwarming moment when residents Jill and John led everyone in a cheerful rendition of “You Are My Honeysuckle, I Am the Bee.” The garden was filled with laughter, song, and a wonderful sense of community as residents shared fond memories and delighted in the beauty of nurturing new life.
Gardening days like these offer so much more than just a bit of outdoor fun. They help keep minds engaged, bodies active, and spirits high. Engaging with nature fosters a sense of calm and accomplishment, while the group setting provides social connection and plenty of smiles along the way.
At The Boynes, we’re thrilled to see our residents enjoy these shared experiences in the garden and look forward to watching their plants—and friendships—continue to grow!
