Today, Chestnut View Care Home was filled with laughter and excitement as our residents welcomed a delightful array of visitors from Mill Cottage Farm! Ducks, chickens, rabbits, and even a friendly tortoise joined us for a morning of cuddles, smiles, and unforgettable moments of connection with nature.
There’s something magical about the calm and happiness these animals bring, boosting our residents’ spirits and adding a special touch of the outdoors to their day. The joy was evident on everyone’s faces as they held, stroked, and chatted about the animals, who were all on their best behaviour—even the chickens, who charmed us with their gentle clucks! And our tortoise friend added an extra touch of fun, happily lounging without any attempts at escape!
Visits like these are more than just entertainment; they’re a chance for our residents to engage, reminisce, and find comfort in the simple joys of animal companionship. Being close to animals has a soothing effect, helping to reduce stress, spark conversations, and bring back cherished memories of time spent in nature or with pets.
We’re already looking forward to the possibility of another visit in spring—perhaps with some lambs to celebrate the new season!
