On 28th June, colleagues from Solent Grange Nursing Home travelled to The Marriott Hotel, London, after being shortlisted in Care Talk’s inaugural Palliative and End of Life Care Awards, a prestigious event dedicated to recognising and celebrating excellence in palliative and end of life care.
Alison Gray, Home Manager, reports: “We were thrilled to receive news that Micha Legaspi, our Deputy Manager, was shortlisted for the Excellence in Palliative Care Nursing Award and our Lifestyle team, represented by Lifestyle Lead Leah Wherry, was shortlisted for The Best Fundraiser Award. The evening was hosted by celebrity guests Kate Garraway and Neev Spencer, and we got to share our table with them for the evening, which made it that little bit more special. Whilst we didn’t come home with any awards on this occasion, we felt honoured to be in the presence of such passionate and influential individuals, all of whom have made such a remarkable impact on those they have cared for.
We are always so grateful to those who have taken the time to nominate us so we can attend these awards, and on many occasions, have the opportunity to bring back winners! Thank you so much for your continued support of what we do at Solent Grange.”
