A Joyful Day of Live Music at Oaklands House Care Home

Oaklands House Care Home residents were recently treated to a fantastic live performance by the talented Freddy Saxo, whose smooth saxophone tunes had everyone tapping their toes and singing along! From timeless Jazz and Blues classics to nostalgic TV theme songs like The Benny Hill Show and The Pink Panther, Freddy’s music evoked happy memories and left smiles on every face.

Live music plays a vital role in supporting the wellbeing of our residents, particularly those living with dementia. The familiar sounds not only bring joy but also help stimulate cognition and connection to past experiences. The soothing sounds of the saxophone created a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, which was appreciated by residents, families, and staff alike.

Many of our residents shared that the saxophone is their favourite instrument, making the performance even more special. We’re already excited for Freddy’s next visit and can’t wait to create more joyful moments together!
