A Refreshing Day at the New Forest Wildlife Park

Residents of Oaklands House Care Centre recently embarked on a delightful adventure to the New Forest Wildlife Park, where nature’s bounty was on full display. The stunning surroundings provided tranquil beauty at every turn, offering a perfect escape from the everyday.

Residents Betty, John, and Irene were captivated by the diverse wildlife they encountered. From majestic owls and playful otters to serene deer, restful red-necked wallabies, and magnificent wolves, the residents were in awe. John, in particular, found himself mesmerised by the towering, age-old pine trees that dotted the landscape. The fresh countryside aromas and soothing sounds created a sensory experience unlike any other.

As the saying goes, “every day’s a school day,” and our residents certainly agreed as the knowledgeable staff at the park shared fascinating insights about the animals and their habitat.

After an eventful morning, it was time for a well-deserved break at the on-site café. Residents enjoyed refreshing drinks and tasty snacks while chatting with friends, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.

All too soon, it was time to board the bus back home, but the sense of calm and connection with nature lingered. Everyone agreed it had been a wonderful day—an invigorating experience and a literal breath of fresh air!
