Dementia Champions making a difference to the lives of our residents
The Future Care Group is committed to providing the highest possible standards of care to Residents with our philosophy being, to provide a friendly, homely atmosphere where Residents are enabled to live as normal a life as possible given their health and welfare. Residents are encouraged to contribute to their own care-planning and staff always respect their choices and diversity and maintain their dignity.
Our Dementia Champions
We believe that investing in the learning and development needs of our employees is essential to providing the highest standards of care. At Future Care Group, all our Homes have a designated trainer, responsible for delivering a learning and development service to their colleagues. Our Dementia Champions do this by planning, delivering and evaluating a range of learning and development activities, including the formal induction programme for all front-line staff in the Home.
They are part of the Future Care Group Training team and in addition they have opportunities to work with the other homes in the local area, to help with the development of other teams, which have lead to wider projects and new learning and development initiatives.
Our Dementia Champions have a good knowledge of working with People living with dementia, including embedding our Dementia Strategy and Culture statement into their day to day practice. These individuals have demonstrated the ability to provide support and guide their colleagues in all aspects of dementia care and are able to facilitate workshops to cascade skills and knowledge in line with the University of Worcestershire programme.
They are passionate about developing people and have a creative approach with lots of energy to motivate, guide and teach employees about the mandatory aspects of their roles.
