Oaklands House Care Centre residents, families and staff enjoyed this month’s sing-along together. It was lovely to have so many family members joining in with their loved ones and using musical instruments.
Songs enjoyed were Jambalaya (On the Bayou) Take Me Home Country Roads by John Denver, I can see clearly now by Johnny Cash and many more. There was such a happy atmosphere amongst everyone involved.
Singing and music have many benefits it can help reduce anxiety and depression, help maintain speech and language, enhances quality of life, and has a positive impact on all partakers. One of the best things about singing is that you don’t have to be good at it to reap the rewards. Another great sing-along afternoon was had by all.
