Steep House Nursing Home Triumphs at Petersfield in Bloom!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Steep House Nursing Home took home first prize in all three categories at last night’s Petersfield in Bloom prize-giving event! This incredible achievement is a testament to the creativity, dedication, and teamwork of our amazing staff, who have worked tirelessly to bring our gardens to life.

A huge congratulations to Martyn, Dave, and Paul, whose hard work and passion for gardening shone through in every element of their creations. Their commitment to enhancing our outdoor spaces has not only brought beauty to our home but also provided a serene and engaging environment for our residents to enjoy.

Here are the standout highlights that led to our success:

Floral Tribute on a Landing Craft: In honour of the 80th anniversary of D-Day, our team crafted a stunning floral arrangement on a landing craft, creating a visually striking and meaningful tribute. The attention to detail and symbolism in this display was a fitting homage to those who served, while also reminding us of the powerful connection between history and nature.

Sensory and Memorial Garden: Our soothing sensory/memorial garden received high praise for its calming atmosphere and thoughtful design. Featuring fragrant flowers, soft greenery, a tranquil water feature, and wind chimes, this garden offers our residents a peaceful space to relax, reflect, and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of nature. It’s a place where residents can connect with their surroundings through sight, smell, and sound, promoting emotional wellbeing and comfort.

Care Home Garden: Finally, our beautiful care home garden was recognised as a tranquil sanctuary where our residents can come together to enjoy the outdoors. Designed with both relaxation and interaction in mind, this garden has become a space where residents can socialise, tend to plants, or simply take in the beauty of the natural world. It plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for everyone at Steep House.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Petersfield Town Council, Mayor Cllr Lesley Farrow, and Petersfield in Bloom’s Vice President Steve Amos for their support and for hosting such a wonderful event. Your recognition means the world to us, and we are so proud to have been a part of this year’s competition.

At Steep House Nursing Home, we believe that gardens are more than just outdoor spaces—they are places of healing, reflection, and joy. We’re delighted that our efforts have been recognised and are excited to continue nurturing these beautiful spaces for our residents to enjoy.
